Introduction
My Services
For over 20 years I have served the elderly community with top of the line live-in care services, and after acquiring over 18 years of after Alzheimer’s/dementia care. I seek to enrich the life of your loved one, so as to encourage their growth and wellbeing on a daily basis. Unlike many inexperienced candidates, my genuine love for the elderly and experience with care giving motivates me daily to seek out the “perfect fit” position for myself.
For many families caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s/dementia can be especially taxing, leaving their loving families with the heartbreaking decision to send their parents away to a “nursing home” or hire a care provider to live within their own home. I personally feel that an elder-care companion must be chosen with care, your loved ones health and happiness is in their hands after all. I am all too familiar with the trauma and loss of independence that many elderly loved ones face daily, from the confusion about their role within a family being jeopardized to their age/health, to the uncomfortable adjustment at times to having a “stranger” [elder-care provider] moving into their home. I empathize, which is why though experience, I choose to present myself in a “friendly” manner to your loved one from day one.
My goal is to give your loved one a sense of “independence”, and to for them to easily view myself as more of a “friend” or “room mate” then a nurse sent into control their lives. However, in light of all of this I manage to give the proper care, attention, and firm encouragement required in situations where a person is in more advanced stages of Alzheimer’s/dementia.
• Individualized care (versus, many nursing homes whom follow strict regimes)
• Familiarity/ Trust (I will personally provide all daily care)
• Customized meal plans (real home cooked meals/specialized meals)
• Socialization (daily walks, conversations, movie time)
• Thoughtful gestures of kindness (from “good morning” greeting cards, to other random heartfelt surprises)
